Tahitian Lime 11th August 2010

Planted Tahitian Lime tree in the Old Shop Orchard. Cow manure was incorporated at planting time after the hole was prepared. The selected location took some digging as there was a layer of limestone in a sheet. This was broken through and a hole prepared with composted cow manure. Tree was planted at the depth of the bagged tree. It is planned to place a shadecloth tree guard around the tree as I have done with all other citrus trees to cut down on wind and frost damage for the next couple of years.

A Kaffir Lime is also proposed later and has been ordered from Snow’s Peninsula Nursery and is expected in late spring.
