Beauty Seedless Grape 2012

Up to now I have just trained this vine to a strong cordon shape without too much concern about the fruiting. This vine is to serve more than just a fruiting vine as it is to shield the verandah from intense direct heat in summer.

Last season it flowered and set a very small bunch of grapes near the head. This suggests it will fruit on new wood and will need to be spur pruned. This year I will closer attention to where the bunches, if any, come from. I have left a single cane from last season for comparison. Actually it was the only cane to develop.
